Thesis Statement

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both completely unjustified and immoral. The bombing was indeed an effective display of military power and potential, but the massive loss of life deemed this exhibition of power inhumane. The president's decision to drop the two bombs seemed also to have heavy influence from the vice of anger and the desire for revenge. Although the bombs did work as a catalyst to Japan's surrender, the loss of innocent life that resulted from the bombs' extreme power completely outweighed the benefit of curing America's desire for revenge.
